This label corresponds to a product to which a maximum of 7% other fibers have been added which drops to 0.3% for the <strong>\u201cpure new wool\u201d<\/strong> label.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 50px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"> <\/div><h3>&#8220;100% Wool&#8221; or &#8220;Pure Wool&#8221; labels<\/h3><p>This refers to a lower quality wool recovered from the fleece of slaughtered animals or from recycled fabrics.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 50px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"> <\/div><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30471\" src=\"https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Global-standard.png\" alt=\"LABELS \" width=\"255\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Global-standard.png 700w, https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Global-standard-350x234.png 350w, https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Global-standard-680x454.png 680w, https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Global-standard-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 255px) 100vw, 255px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><h3>The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)<\/h3><p>The benchmark in terms of organic textiles. Since 2008, this aims to systematize textile labels and standards. It is the most complete textile eco-label for cotton, wool, silk, and hemp.<br>This label guarantees:<\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-family: ovo; font-size: 12pt;\">The biological origin of the animal and plant fibers used;<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: ovo;\">Respect for the work standards of the International Labor Organization;<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: ovo; font-size: 12pt;\">The ban on the use of toxic products, carcinogens, heavy metals or GMO fibers.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p> <\/p><p>GOTS certified products must contain:<\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-family: ovo;\">75% to 90% fibers from organic farming<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: ovo;\">Maximum 10% synthetic or artificial fibers<\/span><\/li><\/ul><div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 90px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"> <\/div><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30475\" src=\"https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/JULIETTE-OZOUF-LABEL-ECKO.png\" alt=\"ECKO LABEL\" width=\"255\" height=\"159\"><\/figure><\/div><h3>The label STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX\u00ae<\/h3><p>It provides assurances to the consumer about textile quality.<\/p><p>Introduced in 1992 in Germany by the International Association for Research and Testing of Ecological Textiles, the OEKO-TEX label aims to guarantee the absence of toxic products such as:<\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-family: ovo;\">Heavy metals,<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: ovo;\">Allergen or azoiec dyes (carcinogen<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-family: ovo;\">Phthalates and benzene<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p>The ecological rules and criteria are very specific and are verified by an independent Swiss regulatory institution.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 50px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"> <\/div><div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\"><div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\"><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30496\" src=\"https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Juliette-ozouf-Les-autres-labels.jpg\" alt=\"Other quality labels\" width=\"460\" height=\"184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Juliette-ozouf-Les-autres-labels.jpg 500w, https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Juliette-ozouf-Les-autres-labels-350x140.jpg 350w, https:\/\/julietteozouf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Juliette-ozouf-Les-autres-labels-300x120.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/figure><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Other labels exist, and we will talk about them in a future article &#8230;<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 50px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"> <\/div><h3>Our opinion:<\/h3><p>Small issue,<\/p><p>On the one hand, the fashion industry is a huge commercial machine that needs to find legitimacy to maintain a positive image through the use of labels. However, the more a company communicates about its ethics and practices, the less it has to invest in its products. For example, an advertising campaign is expensive, costing upwards of half a million euros at least, and that money will then not be invested in raw materials or in clothing.
